leadership in innovation, market development and research.
Philosophy
Our primary client is the consumer, and the primary beneficiary is the producer.

More information on strategies related to ACIDF funding goals is available from our business plan
document.
Grant Priority and Preferences
The ACIDF is interested in innovation and creativity. We will consider a wide range of projects
depending on funding resources at our disposal to ensure the greatest benefit to our primary
beneficiary, the Alberta farmers.
Priority:
Industry development projects with strong market focus, that increase the competitiveness of Alberta
farmers through such avenues as leadership, research, innovation, training and marketing initiatives.
Current Areas of Interest
Currently ACIDF manages a number of initiatives. Each initiative has its own priorities and limitations.
Investments made under each initiative will be decided on relative merit, fit with objectives, and quality
of proposal. Each supported project must support the ACIDF business deliverables for that initiative.
The investment strategy for each separate initiative is available through the appropriate section of the
current ACIDF business plan. See the Library section of this website.
Proposals from both the Agriculture Funding Consortium call, will be considered for all initiatives.
Preference:
Projects located within the province, or directly associated with expanding Alberta's market
opportunities.
Size:
A mix of large and small projects, especially in areas not receiving adequate attention and support from
other funding sources. ACIDF grants typically range from $10,000 to $200,000 over the life of the
project.
Grants will be awarded competitively, judged on individual merit, and under the guidance of the
signatory organizations.
Jointly funded projects are encouraged but not essential.
